Devices to shape your sound
Immediately playable, infinitely capable
Wavetable is a new synthesizer built by Ableton. Shape, stretch and morph sounds using wavetables derived from analog synths, a range of other instruments and sounds or use a sample in your library to create your own. Sculpt sounds right away – even without a deep knowledge of synthesis – or explore its rich palette through an intuitive interface.
Shape your sound with effects
Echo combines the sound of classic analog and digital hardware delays in a single device. Shape sounds with analog-modeled filters, create vintage imperfections with noise and wobble, or add modulation and reverb to create diffuse soundscapes, wailing feedback and more.
Experiment using new tools
Eight tools designed to enhance and expand the punch, color and texture achievable with Live. This collection includes new ways to pitch shift and sequence melodies and delays, creative and characterful studio processing, a device that creates ethereal, reverb-like spaces, and two revamped Max for Live synths.
Rediscover time tested devices
A sample-based reverb suite with hundreds of impulse responses from real-world spaces and world-class hardware. This Pack also includes an IR Measurement Tool for creating IRs of your own favorite spaces.
A multitude of workflow improvements
Turn your most spontaneous ideas into music
Arm a MIDI track and play. When you hear something you like, press Capture MIDI. Live matches your tempo and timing, and plays your idea in a loop without having to press Record. It also works when adding new parts or overdubbing MIDI into existing clips.
Multiple MIDI clip editing
Edit smarter and take better control of the musical relationships in your song. Work with multiple MIDI clips across multiple tracks within a single view—in both Session and Arrangement.
Create and arrange more fluidly
Choose from a palette of automation shapes, stretch and skew automation and simplify complex curves into C- and S-shapes for easier editing – then easily hide automation when you don’t need to see it.
When working on the audio clips in Arrangement View, new editing features make detailed editing and broad adjustments faster and easier. New keyboard shortcuts give you immediate access to common production workflows such as zooming, soloing, and folding group and automation tracks.
Create groups within groups
Process individual group elements, a subgroup or an entire bus. Managing Sets with lots of tracks and a detailed arrangement gets easier, as well – multiple levels of groups let you fold tracks together for a simple overview.
Keep your go-to devices, plug-ins and samples in color-coded collections and access them instantly in the browser.
Track freezing with sidechains
Freezing tracks that contain sidechain routing is now possible.
Utility has an improved gain range for volume automation. EQ Eight and Utility now have features that offer more precise control of bass frequencies. Split Stereo allows for flexible placement of individual channels in the stereo space.
Dedicated automation and modulation buttons in Clip Detail View
Toggle between automation and modulation in the Clip Detail View. All modulation now has its own distinctive color.
Instantly select the right routing by labeling Live’s inputs and outputs to match the instruments and hardware in your studio.
Do even more from Push
New melodic step sequencing layout
Simultaneously sequence notes and play them in from the same pad layout – the bottom half of the layout allows you to play notes in real time while the top half lets you sequence them.
Advanced effect visualization
See Wavetable or Echo in rich detail on Push as you play. You’ll see spectrum analysis on Channel EQ and EQ Eight, as well as EQ Eight’s advanced Mid/Side and Left/Right EQ modes. On Compressor, you’ll see threshold settings and activity and can even set up sidechain routing.
MIDI note view
Navigate and refine MIDI notes in context directly on the Push display. Press and hold a step in your sequence to zoom in and use the on-screen control to adjust velocity, note position and length.
New library of sound
A new range of sound packs captures the musical threads that tie together evolving styles and scenes. Each Pack is a curated selection of instruments, clips and samples that share a common sonic theme.
Built by Ableton in collaboration with artists and sound designers, Live 10 Suite comes with four new in-depth instrument packs.
Max for Live – no limits, built in
Max technology is now fully integrated into Live 10 Suite – no additional download or set up is required. Devices load faster, use less CPU and feel more like Live’s native devices. Plus, new devices and capabilities bring more possibilities for musicians and device developers.
A more fluid and optimized patching experience
Move objects into and out of patch cords in one step, manage objects in groups and filter and timestamp events. Event probing gives you immediate insight on your patch when you hover over a cable, the ability to move seamlessly between editing and playing with the Operate While Unlocked feature and much much more.
Advanced MIDI–hardware integration
Max for Live devices can now send and receive SysEx messages, allowing deeper access to synthesizers including full preset backup dumps, parameter control and more. Max for Live can also create custom control surfaces for hardware integration.
