Plug into the RME OctaMix XTC preamp and AD/DA converter and you're stepping up to a pro-quality front end for your studio setup. The RME OctaMix XTC packs reference-quality preamps plus eight balanced XLR inputs, four TRS line inputs, and four instrument inputs into its single-rackspace chassis. Premium converters give you stellar 192kHz resolution, while Clock Control, SyncCheck, QuickGain, AutoSet, and SteadyClock functions give you maximum control. Flexible digital connectivity means you can put this potent preamp to work in a wide range of studio applications. Plus, a generous 85dB of gain range makes the RME OctaMix XTC great for all your mics.

The OctaMic XTC is equipped with one MADI optical port that provides up to 64 channels of MADI I/O at 48 kHz. It also boasts eight balanced XLR/TRS mic/line inputs. Four of these inputs feature a pad for recording loud sound sources, and the other four can be switched to accept direct Hi-Z input from electric guitars and basses. Each of the eight inputs are fitted with a high-quality digitally controlled preamp.

Furthermore, the unit features a D-sub 25 connector that provides four AES/EBU inputs and four AES/EBU outputs. It also has one optical ADAT input and two ADAT outputs, each of which are capable of carrying eight channels of digital audio a piece.

The OctaMic XTC also provides ample MIDI connectivity, equipped with two 5-pin DIN standard MIDI I/O connectors, plus it allows for two sets of MIDI I/O to be transmitted over USB and an additional set over the optical MADI port.

All analog and digital inputs, including up to 64 MADI channels and 8 AES/EBU audio channels, can be freely patched to any output. Up to 24 channels can be carried over the USB 2.0 port
Two unbalanced hi-power stereo headphone outputs that can also operate as line outputs with use of TRS to RCA phono cable, or TRS plug to TS cable
Switchable +48V phantom power per channel
